Mrs. Barrett was the best teacher I had. She also was the mother of one of my best friends, Carlos. I have great memories of her from ASFM and the sixth grade. She helped us all be ourselves and to be what we are now. My prayers are with all of you. I am very sorry for your loss.

Senora Barrett was my high school Spanish Teacher at East Fairmont High School and one of the most wonderful teachers there. She was so much fun to be around, full of wit, and never one to take any grief from a student. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you!

The news saddened me deeply. I remember her well from 6th grade. She was strict, but an excelent teacher who influenced our future and in what we became.
I said hello to her a few years ago when she came to Monterrey for a big anniversary of the school.
May she rest in peace.

Mrs. Barrett was easily the best teacher I had at East Fairmont High. All of the Spanish that I know today is because of her. My condolences and prayers to the family and loved ones.

My thoughts and prayers are, as always, with you. It was an honor to have her in our lives! My children will continue to hear of the Legend that Evelyn always was. My children grew up with "Evelynisms" and my granddaughter knows her humor as well. Thank you for sharing her with all of us.

I knew Mrs Barrett when she taught at East Fairmont High School. She was always such a joy to see in the hall, joking with students and teachers. I will never forget her. Your family has my deepest sympathy.

I send my deepest sympathy to Evelyn's family! I knew her in Monterrey at the American School, but she was also a good friend of my mother, Iris Van Etten. Evelyn was so good to my mother and she was helpful and kind to me and my sisters when our mother died. We will always be grateful for her friendship. I pray that God will give you the strength to cope with your loss.
