To Morty, Margie, Richie, Michael, and Gerry, I am sorry to hear about your loss. Years ago, when I lived in Montreal, I spent alot of time over at the house visiting Gerry. I will always remember Evelyn for the kind, caring, hospitable person that she was.

Morty, Margie, Richie, Michael, and Jerry, my forever memory of Evelyn will be the last time we saw each other. I was visiting Montreal for a family event, and decided on a whim to drop in unannounced on that most familiar address where there was always Evelyn's amazing graciousness, warm smile, and "please come in...how ARE you? tell me everything...how are your parents and the family?" This visit was no different, save for her even greater warmth, hospitality, lots of questions, catch-up stories about our respective families, unfettered pride about her family...especially her grandchildren...Her smile never left her face...As we talked we found ourselves studying each other's visage...This was not just about feeling comfortable in her presence after all these years where phone calls had sufficed. Rather, it felt as if I had just returned from being away for maybe a few weeks, and we were catching up again on the latest breaking news...What an extraordinary gift she had making one feel so comfortable. She was more than kind, yet one of a kind. More than my friends' mother, but one whom as a kid growing up I secretly held out to be at the very top of the list of role models for mothers, who then granted me as I grew up the gift of her friendship.
Saturday morning, Heaven became an even better place...

To the Stober Family. Issie & I would like to offer our condolences on the loss of a wife, mother, mother-in-law & grandmother. We got to know Evelyn through our good friends the late Lillian & Nadie Faletsky. You should not know of anymore sorrow.

Dear Morty and family,
We were very saddened to hear of Evelyn's passing, she was a wonderful lady and will be greatly missed. My mother, Sylvia, often spoke of her with much fondness.
May you be comforted in knowing that you are in our thoughts at this time.
