Everett Banfield Obituary

Everett C. Banfield. Word has been received that Everett C. Banfield, formerly a resident of the Carmel area, died on January 29. Mr. Banfield was a graduate of Amherst College. And he later earned an aeronautical engineering degree. During World War II he was active designing planes at Northrop, American Aviation, and Curtis-Wright in Southern California. In Monterey he set up the engineering process for the well-known Couroc Tray Company. In the Carmel area he designed and built private homes. Mr. Banfield was an active participant in sports: tennis, skiing, sailing, and golfing. He was a member of the Tahoe Yacht Club and the Nevada County Country Club. He held a private pilot's license and, with his wife as navigator, flew the United States cross-country. Mr. Banfield is survived by his wife, Lucy; sons Alan of Grass Valley and Bruce of Franklin, TN; daughter-in-law Kelly Banfield; granddaughters Christine and Margaret Banfield; and by his sister, Elizabeth Cole of Pebble Beach. Donations may be made to the Hospice of the Foothills, 12389 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley, CA 95945.
