Ewan Clark Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Jul. 16, 2011.
CLARK, Ewan (Sudsy) Sutherland It is with great sadness that we must announce Ewan (Sudsy) Sutherland Clark lost his battle with colonic cancer on the evening of Thursday, 23 June. His death was too early and too sudden for all of us who loved him. His voice was one silenced too soon. He enjoyed many years as an actor, musician, writer, teacher, radio program host and found great joy in the years he spent producing radio plays in Halifax for CBC Radio, working with writers, actors, musicians and the technical geniuses with whom he conspired to bring magic to the airwaves. He loved every minute of it. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Kathryn Clark, her husband Jack Butland and son Jack in Auckland, New Zealand; his son Ewan MacLeod, his wife Terri and son Alex in Trenton, Ontario; and his daughter Shauna MacLeod and her son Ewan and daughter Merewyn, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is also survived by his brothers Sandy in Montague, Prince Edward Island; Ken in Suva, Fiji; and his sister Janet in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia who all will miss him and his contributions to the famed Clark family humour and ability at three part harmony at family gatherings. Ewan's partner, Susan MacPhee, asks on his behalf that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Actor's Fund of Canada. There will be an event for Ewan's friends to mark his life and happiness in his artistic work at a later date.
