“The influence of a good teacher can never be erased”. These words took me back to memories of my George Washington and T.C. Williams High School years, Alexandria, VA. I was a student of Dr. Faye Gunn. She was one of the best teachers that I ever had in school. She made all of her students feel equally loved and cared for. I remember her quick wit and sense of humor.

In the educational stream, the most powerful force is the bond between a student and teacher. This bond leads to academic success and student empowerment. What makes Dr. Faye Gunn special was her mentoring style. She was a supportive mentor who inspired me to be me.

Many of the lessons students learn from their teachers are not mentioned in the syllabus. She was a teacher who always nurtured her students mind with positivity. Teachers who help students to grow as people impart some of the most important teachings of life.

I am thankful to Dr. Faye Gunn for going the extra mile. I have had several conversations with her telling how her kindness, support and interest in my character development has helped me in many difficult stages of my life.

Though my words are not enough to appreciate all the hard work Dr. Faye Gunn have done for her students, Alfred Street Baptist Church and community. I will always remember her taking the time to meet with me and listen. I feel so blessed and thankful to have known her as a constant source of motivation in my life.

Thank you, Dr. Faye Gunn for dedicating your time and energy in teaching, thank you for your never ending current affair discussions. Thank you for being my elder.

My deepest heartfelt condolences to Dr. Faye Gunn family, Alfred Street Baptist Church family, Alexandria, VA and community.❤ Sherrill Hankins

Rev. Gunn was very special to me. She was an anointed preacher. She was a prayer warrior who prayed for me on numerous occasions. She was thoughtful and kind. I will miss her. Her sweet sweet spirit will be missed at Alfred Street. My condolences to the Gunn family.

Dr. Faye Gunn was my Teacher and Mentor. She would let you know who and what and why you are here. She is a Legend. I thank GOD for her. Praying for the family. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not into thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shalll direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Rest in Heaven Dr. Faye Gunn

Rev Gunn was a Pastor who always gave me words of wisdom and filled my soul with the Holy Ghost through her GOD sent sermons. She has left a legacy and a void of emptiness in ASBC and was the backbone of ASBC since the going home of Pastor Peterson. Preach on Pastor Gunn because God has called one of the best home.
