March 18, 1941 - July 5, 2013
Faye Ann Sorensen (nee Murphy) passed away suddenly on July 5, 2013 in Calgary, Alberta, surrounded by her family. Faye is survived by her devoted husband Robert, sons David (Kathleen) and Miles (Lisa) and daughter Mary-Jo. Also mourning her passing are her grandchildren: Faith, Reid, Callen and Maren, her sister Marie (Orin), sister-in-law Myrtle and her brother- in-law Dick. Faye was predeceased by her beloved son Daniel, her parents, George "Bud" Murphy and Agnes (nee Weller) Murphy, her siblings, Marlys, Dennis, Patrick and Bill, her sister-in-law Irene and her brother-in-law Rudy. Faye was born in Camrose and raised, as the youngest of 6 children, on the family farm in Bawlf, Alberta. Faye moved to Calgary where she worked at City Hall as a secretary. Faye and Robert, who met when he gallantly rescued her at a pool party, were married in 1964 and had a wonderful 49 years of Marriage. They, together with their children and grandchildren, recently enjoyed a fabulous vacation to Disney World to celebrate 50 years of love and companionship. Faye will be missed dearly by her family, friends, community and church. She was an active member of the CWL, Bridge Club, Acadia Community and Seniors Club. Evening prayers will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday July 11, 2013 and services will be held at 2:30pm on Friday July 12, 2013, all at St Cecilia's Parish at 321 - 90 Avenue SE in Calgary. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.

I am so terribly sorry to hear of Faye's passing. I have never in my life met a more genuine loving caring person. I worked with Faye at Erehwon Exploration in the early 90's. I will miss her yearly Christmas letter. My condolences to Bob and family. Always keep Faye's memory close to your hearts.

It was with shock and sadness that we learned today that our lovely friend Faye was gone. I was a bridesmaid at her wedding and my husband knew Bob for many years as well. We had a lovely visit with them last September. We will certainly miss her smiling face and cheerful personality. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family in this very sad time.
