Filomena D'Amato

Filomena D'Amato 1925 - 2013 SPRINGFIELD - Filomena D'Amato, 87, died peacefully Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family and a special friend, Michelina Calabrese. Filomena was born August 11, 1925 in Bracigliano, Italy, the daughter of the late Anna Grimaldi (Albano) and Joseph Albano. She settled in Springfield, MA in 1954 where she was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Her passion in life was her loving family. She was predeceaced by her beloved husband Giuseppe in 2002. She leaves behind her loving daughters Anna Maria Vivenzio and Joanne O'Connor and her husband Kevin O'Connor, two sisters, Amelia Parrinello of New York, Annuziata Albano of Italy and one brother John DeNardo in New York. She was predeceased by her brother Frank DeNardo of Florida. She leaves a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Annuziata and Geremia Botta of Springfield, three devoted grandchildren, Theodore Vivenzio, Joseph Vivenzio and his wife Sonia and Lana O'Connor and her precious great grandson, Giuseppe Vivenzio, she also several nieces and nephews here and in Italy. The family would like to thank Dr. Haddad of Pioneer Valley Cardiology Associates, Inc. of Springfield, MA. The funeral for Filomena will be held Friday at 12 from Tazzini Funeral Home with a Funeral Mass in Mt. Carmel Church at 1, entombment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 9:30-12. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Filomena's name may be made to Istituo Antoniano dei Rogazionisti, Via Tiziano Minio, 15, 35134 Padova, Italy.
