Funeral service for Mrs. Frances Winn will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Westside Baptist Church in Natchitoches. Interment will follow at Marthaville Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until service time on June 1st at Westside Baptist Church.
Frances was born on July 30, 1935 to Henry Grady Riley and Byrdean Browning Riley in Duck Hill, MS. She passed away on May 29, 2022 in Many, LA at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother.
Frances worked for many years with the Natchitoches Parish School Board but ultimately retired from the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s office after several years of service to her community. She was a long-time member of Westside Baptist Church and enjoyed fellowship with her church family and especially her Sunday School class. Family was her greatest treasure on earth and she cherished each and every time spent with them. We take comfort in knowing we will be reunited with her one day in Heaven.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Don Winn; children, Holly Lambert and Scott Clayton Winn; grandchildren, Jed Lambert and wife Liz and Kelly Lambert Aton and husband Zach; great grandchildren, Levi Aton, Cullen Aton, and Milleigh Aton; a sister, Yvonne Hayen; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Ruggiero.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Robert Morgan, Mike Stewart, S.G. Martin, David Cheatwood, Zach Aton and Anthony Pleasant.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frances’ name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a charity of your choice.

A great woman and an angel here on earth. Now an angel in heaven that will continue to look over us.

Coach Winn, I was shocked at the news of Mrs. Fran's passing. We were so looking forward to seeing you again when we came to Natchitoches again. Mrs. Fran was a special lady, and we will all miss her. But, one day, we'll be able to meet her again. I will always cherish the visit we had with you all just before Covid hit. I will be praying that God will give you the grace to get through this time of sorrow.

Deepest sympathy to Coach Don, Holly, and Scott and all of her beloved family at this sad time of the passing of Ms. Fran. May the Great Comforter visit you all at this sad time. Take comfort in knowing that she now dwells in that heavenly place that Jesus said he was going to prepare for all of those loved and served Him. She is most certainly among that throng of believers. She was dearly, will be lovingly remembered by all former and current members of the Marthaville, Community, I am sure.
