Francis Xavier Borusiewicz Sr.

Francis "Boris" Xavier Borusiewicz Sr., 71, of Dickson City, died Saturday at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born in Peckville, he was the son of the late Alfred and Genevieve Lukasik Borusiewicz and was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. He was a graduate of Dickson City High School, class of 1964, and he received an associate degree from Penn State University. He had been employed by the Trane Corp. for 27 years, where he served as a fabricator and shop steward, and he retired from Cinram, Olyphant. He was a member of the local Steam Fitters Union. Francis was a social member of American Legion Post 665, Dickson City.

He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who was an avid fan of the New York Mets, Pittsburgh Steelers, UCLA basketball and Penn State football. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending buck season at the cabin and fishing with his children, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Bojarsky and husband, Brian, Archbald; sons, David and wife, Nicole, Peckville; and Francis Jr. and wife, Desiree, Conshohocken; four grandchildren, Luke, Jake, Zackary and Cody; a brother, Alfred Borusiewicz and wife, Suzette, Dickson City; nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Eugenia Mellow.

The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in St. Mary's Visitation Church. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Interment will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery, Blakely.
