Mr. Francis J. Codair, 91 of Lynn died Wednesday at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy E. (Briffett) Codair.
Francis was born in Lynn, son of the late Frank G. and Jane (O'Donovan) Codair. He was a lifelong resident of Lynn. He was a graduate of St. Patricks Grammar School and attended Lynn Public Schools.
He worked for the General Electric Company River Works as an Eb welder for 48 years retiring in 1979.
He was a WW II United States Marine Veteran and held the rank of Corporal. He was awarded the WW II victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theatre medal, European African Middle East Medal and the China Service Medal.
He was a member of the Local 201 IUE AFL CIO, a member of the Heavy Equipment Operators Local 4, Valladolid Council # 70 Knights of Columbus and the 3rd Order of St. Francis. Francis was a long time communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
He is survived by his loving children, Linda J. Berg of Lynn, Cynthia O'Brien and her husband Timothy of No. Attleboro, Larry T. Codair and his wife Elise of Lynn, Donna M. Small and her husband Robert of Lynn, David G. Codair and his wife Kelly of Melrose and Caroline F. Morse and her husband Thomas of Melrose. Also survived by his cherished 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late William, Alexander and James Codair and Catherine Chadbourne.
Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn, Monday at 9:00AM. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-5PM. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to All Care Hospice, 210 Market St. Lynn, MA 01901.

Though the remembrance book of Francis J. Codair will be closed, his memory will live on forever. Forever in the hearts of all the lives he touched. We are the people we are today, because of the hero's that touched us throughout our lives. Francis J. Codair has always been and will always be, A HERO!
