HEIDER – Francis J., 75, Walnut Grove, died peacefully at home on Oct. 5, 2007. Born March 22, 1932, in Johnstown, son of the late John B. and Helen (Wass) Heider. Preceded in death by brothers, John Jr. and William Heider; infant sister, Anna; and great-granddaughter, Gracie Fabrizio. Survived by wife, the former Ruth Moschgat; children, Francis, Ronald and Patricia (Duris), Deborah and Thomas McAfee; Michael and Kathy Jones; Terri and Brion Layton; and John, all of Johnstown; George and Paula (Sones), Norfolk, Va.; and Scott and Jeanette (Kovalchic), Johnstown; grandchildren, Casey Heider; Corey and Jami Duris; Sara and John Fabrizio; Carrie and Maria Heider; Jeremy and Heather (Fyock) McAfee; Justin and Jessica (Vance) McAfee; Cory M. Layton; and Kristen, Bradley and Ryan Heider, all of Johnstown; Samantha Heider, Norfolk, Va.; Barry Eisenhuth Jr.; and Jordan and Mackenzie Rose Heider, Johnstown; great-grandchildren, Sarina, Cory Jr. and Lydia Duris; Chloe and Gabriel Fabrizio; Kiley Zubay; and Emma McAfee, all of Johnstown; and brothers and sisters, Dorothy and Edward Skala, Mary Ruth Maldet and Thomas C., all of Johnstown; James and Ona (Meyers), Philadelphia; Elizabeth Garlitz, Seward; Louis and Joan (Price), Connellsville; Carol Misosky, Georgia; and Robert and Barbara (Intihar), Salix; sisters-in-law, Eleanor Heider and Judy Heider, both of Johnstown; and special niece, Kathy Heider, Johnstown. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Franny will be missed by his faithful and loyal companion, Bailey. He previously worked for Rudy Haupt Chevrolet and retired from Thiele Inc. in Windber. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Geisel Funeral Home, Dale.
