Frank Anger Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 22, 2024.
Frank Anger Jr. of Nampa, Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home on September 4, 2024, at the age of 80. He was born on April 3, 1944, in Catskill, New York.

Frank graduated from Catskill High School in 1962 and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1966, where he trained as an engineer during the Vietnam War. He was honored with the National Defense Service Medal and recognized as an Expert Rifleman. Following his service, Frank embarked on a successful engineering career with IBM, starting in Poughkeepsie, New York, before moving to California in 1974. There, he and his wife, Sandy, settled in Gilroy, where they raised their two daughters and shared many family activities, including archery, bowling, and treasure hunting at flea markets. In his spare time, Frank was an avid woodworker, known for his intricate carvings as well as furniture and cabinetry work. He loved music and played both the guitar and accordion. Additionally, Frank was a nationally certified rifle instructor and taught skeet shooting and sporting clays.

In 2007, Frank moved to Manteca, California, with his wife, Peggy Terras. The couple enjoyed riding their motorcycles, gambling, and playing golf together. Frank, along with his loyal Rottweiler mix, Bob, became well-known in the community through his successful gopher control business. His passion for fishing and shooting eventually led him and Peggy to Nampa, Idaho, in 2019.

Frank was a loving husband and father. His humor, generosity, and creativity will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Anger; his daughters, Joanne Reese (Mark) of Turlock, CA, and Karin Plow (Brent) of Evergreen, CO; his grandchildren, Skyler, Michael, and Makayla Reese, and Chloe and Jack Plow; and his sister, Mary Turek of Catskill, New York.

A celebration of life will be held at The Del Webb Community Center, 2401 Morning Brook Dr, Manteca, CA 95336, on Friday, October 25th, from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA or the National Kidney Foundation in Frank's memory.
