Frank BATTERSBY Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 9, 2004.
BATTERSBY _ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Frank Battersby. Born October 4th, 1919 at the family home on Oxford Street in Vancouver, BC, he passed away on Saturday, January 3rd, 2004 in the care of the staff at the Delta Hospital. "Papa" was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Peggy, in 2001. Lovingly remembered by his children, Pamela Lynne (Tom), Robert Glenn (Jane); his granddaughters, Laura and Sonia; in-laws, May and Ted Norman, Ted and Jean Glenn, Dr. Robert Glenn; and he will be sadly missed by his extended family of friends and neighbours, young and old. Frank was a representative at Canadian Takahashi in the Lower Mainland for a number of years. He also served in the 2nd Battalion Canadian Scottish Regiment, World War II in Europe. He was a world traveler with a passion for golf and people. Papa taught us to appreciate the little things in life, family, laughter and learning. And he had a never ending supply of affection for everyone he met. Truly a special person who always wore a smile, his memory will continue to live on in the heart of everyone who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby on Tuesday, January 13th at 1:00 p.m. Urn interment will take place Thursday, January 15th at 1:00 p.m. within the Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
