Frank Buttitta Obituary

Frank Buttitta, formerly of Bloomfield and Glen Ridge, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton, Pa. He was 94 years old.

Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave. Livingston on Monday, February 24, at 9 am, followed by a
Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony's Church, Belleville at 10:30 am. Interment is in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Bloomfield. The visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6 pm.

Born and raised in Bloomfield, Frank lived in Glen Ridge for 10 years before moving to Scranton, Pa. in 2007. He worked in the parts department of General Motors Corp for 45 years, retiring many years ago.

An Army Veteran of WWII, he was a past member of the VFW. He was actively involved with the UAW, attending regular meetings.

Frank was the beloved husband of the late Josephine (nee Ruglio), loving father of Frank Buttitta, Jr. and his wife Jean, Nancy Handl and her husband Peter, and the late Mark Buttitta and his surviving wife Susan, dear brother of Jennie Kliminski, Joseph Buttitta, Rosemary Nicolato, Palma Nowicki, and the late Josephine Yanella and Carl, Domenick, John, Anthony, and James Buttitta, and cherished grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers kindly make contributions in memory of Frank Buttitta to the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, payable to the GMVC Welfare Fund, 401 Penn Ave., Scranton, Pa 18503.

I remember your Dad as a kind quiet man, he was married to my cousin Josephine and I remember going to wrights field and visiting Aunt Jo. My dad was Martin l. Ruglio . Sorry for your loss! Marlene Ruglio Dilauri
