Frank Dent Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and The Province from Apr. 1 to Apr. 3, 2005.
DENT _ Frank Edward, born April 3, 1917 in Hamilton, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Heritage Square, Vernon, BC, on March 24, 2005 at the age of 87. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Marianne, sons Doug and Jim (Jennifer) and daughter Mary, grandchildren Greg, Jaclyn, Nicola, Kari, Daniel and John. Predeceased by his sisters, Betty, Margaret and Ruth. Dad graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, Class of '41 and joined the legal department of CP Rail where he remained until his retirement in 1975. Dad took great pride in his profession and the variety of work he enjoyed as corporate counsel. Away from the office, he loved his golf and bridge and spent many happy hours at Shaughnessy Golf Club. The bridge club he started in the late 40's was an ongoing source of pleasure to him until the last few years of his life. Dad wanted to be cremated and have his ashes spread on "Jim's farm" (as he called it), as in his own words "It should help his fertilization program." No service by request. Dad loved to travel. Bon voyage Dad! Bethel Funeral Chapel 250-542-1187

My condolences to your family. I believe your father worked with my dad at C.P. My father was Bill Sylander and worked in the claims dept for many years. I know both men put many years into the company and enjoyed their retirements.
