He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He always felt like "Anchors Away" was a national anthem. He was very proud to have served. After returning from the war, he continued his service with the Union Pacific Railroad. After his retirement, he and Maralyn traveled extensively with lots of de ar friends. He enjoyed collecting coins, stamps, and he planted and tended a beautiful yard. Frank loved music and at age 70 learned to play the organ, fulfilling a lifelong dream. He loved Christmas and for many years donned the red suit and white beard as Santa for family and friends. He was a member of Gold's Gym and missed very few days of exercising and visiting. He was very fond of friends he made at the gym. Frank was so proud of his son and his grandchildren and their spouses. Family and friends were so dear to his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn Beecher and an infant brother, Leslie Horspool.
