Frank Lanzetta Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 2 to Aug. 4, 2022.
Frank J Lanzetta, 81, left this earth for greener pastures on Sunday, July 24 at 3:40 am. He fought an uphill battle against Parkinsons' Disease for over 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Pauline Carey Lanzetta, his son, Troy A. Lanzetta, and his stepson, Barry "Todd" Lindsey. Frank is survived by his 30 year lover and companion, Ivy Bertaut, his stepson, Ronald Lindsey, his stepdaughters, Elizabeth Brown, Ivy Stierwald, Melanie Lanzetta, grandson, Kenny Brown and his younger brother James F. Lanzetta. He was fortunate to have and live near many cousins while young; including Eileen Rush, who has been steadfast with her help and concern during his last years. Frank was born and raised in New Orleans, and lived in Slidell in his middle years, where he worked for McGee Finance as a collection manager. Frank enjoyed many trips to far away lands, some of which he shared with parents and family. He was a generous man and always ready to help with a hammer, wrench or ladder, and always a fishing pole. He once watched LSU win the Sugar Bowl, on a computer while traveling in Brussels, Belgium. A raging snowstorm outside could not distract him. No matter where in the world he was, Frank carried LSU with him. His blood really did run purple and gold. We would like to express our gratitude to the New Orleans VA Hospital for excellent medical care and compassion shown to us over 25 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Prayer Blessing at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Prayer Blessing at 12:00 p.m. Interment in Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Growing up with so many cousins I was blessed to know and spend a lot of time with them. Frank was older and "cool"always having fun. His mom Aunt Pauline was like that too and they shared lots of trips together. Ivy was a Godsend to him and all of us for the love and support she showed. Frank is now free of his disease. Love you cuz

While I only had the privilege of
knowing Frank for a short time, I know he was kind, had a great sense of humor and loved those Tigers!
My deepest condolences to his family.
