Francis Michael Morrow, known as “Frank” to everyone he knew, died on the evening of September 14, 2022. Frank was 81 years old.
Frank was born in Manhattan, New York at 7:25 pm. He was the first child to Sarah Quinn and Frank Morrow. He attended Presentation of the Blessed Virgin primary school and Holy Cross high school. Growing up, Frank worked in the family business, Emerald Food.
When Frank was old enough, he served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Frank worked in the restaurant industry. He eventually owned and operated various restaurants and delicatessens in New York, the last of them called Southampton Hero &
Deli Sandwiches in Southampton, NY. When he moved to North Carolina in 1998, he worked to keep himself busy which had the wonderful side effect of helping his fellow Wilmington neighbors. Whether he was a driver for the elderly, a maintenance handyman, or a school lunch
delivery driver and server, he lived his life helping others.
Frank loved to travel the world and remembered each location fondly with a magnet on the refrigerator door. Even with over fifty magnets spanning four continents, he always had ideas for where to go next. Waiting for the next destination, he traveled countless worlds and stories while
reading at the kitchen table or outside soaking up the sun. If he was not reading, then you could find him tending to his garden and flowerbeds.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Robert, Brian, Daniel, Carol, and Sally, and his first wife Tina. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Imelda and their child Eric; his three children Frank, Patrick, and Melissa from his first wife; his brothers Tom, Jim,
Kevin, John and sisters Margie and Eileen. He also leaves behind his nephews and nieces as well as many friends.
A celebration of his life will be held on September 24, 2022 in Wilmington, NC.

Frank was the father of my good friend Eric. I know Frank was a loving and great man because I can see those characteristics in Eric as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with Eric, Caroline, and his whole family in this time.

Frank was a kind beautiful man with not a selfish spot in his body. I looked forward when I went out my front door I would see him and just converse about nothing. Frank, you are missed and loved by me and my family but who knows, our heart and souls will meet up in heaven and we can speak about old times someday.

Frank was the father of one of my best friends, Eric. I had the pleasure of meeting Frank on a few occasions. He was always friendly and warm. He was immensely proud of Eric. The world was a better place with him. My heart is with Eric, Imelda, and all those who mourn him.

His passing has left a void in my heart. I was fortunate we became more friends than just brothers in our later lives and were able to forgive & overlook incidents and circumstances of our younger years. He was kind-hearted, sensitive, concerned and empathetic more than he was quick to reveal. May our just & loving God be more than merciful to him. I will miss him & our frequent, like weekly phone conversations.

His Chicago Cousin Michael P. Morrow and I want to express our sorrow in hearing of Frank’s death. Michael is the youngest boy of James and Della Morrow. Tom keeps us up to-date on your family. He is a great resource.

I had a great talk with my oldest brother and godfather, Frankie, the night before he died. Given that he was 12 years older, we weren't always close. I feel it was a gift to have this warm and friendly conversation with him. He was very supportive and encouraging about my recent operation, my family and friends and my future plans for retirement. I am grateful for his brotherly love and I will miss him. Eileen
