Frank Orlando Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 24 to Nov. 26, 2010.
OBITUARY FRANK ORLANDO 1961-2010 Suddenly and without warning on November 20, 2010 while walking the country road to his Milles Isles home. He was a loving and devoted family man to Cody, James and Holly. Beloved son of Sophie and predeceased by his father Frank Orlando senior. Loving brother to Danny (Heather), Kim and Uncle to Mike, Frank, and Amy. A true and loyal friend to his many companions, hunting and sports enthusiasts. Frank loved the outdoors, his passions were hunting and fishing throughout Quebec's wilderness regions. He will be missed by his many friends and sports competitors on the rugby fields of U.N.B. and hockey arenas throughout the Laurentians. He was a Saint Laurent native, graduate of Father McDonald class of '78, attended U.N.B. and was a volunteer firefighter in Milles Isles. He will rest now in the woods awhile, and the woodsman will await us further down the trail near the great valley where we will meet, sit by his fire and be together once more. We love you daddy. Sadly missed by his grieving children family and friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at: Urgel Bourgie Funeral Complex 3955 Cote de Liesse (Corner Ste-Croix) Ville St. Laurent, Quebec on Friday November 26, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Saturday 10 to 11 a.m. A Liturgy of the Word will be held in the Chapel of the Complex on Saturday, November 27 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

To the Orlando family,
I attended Father McDonald high school with Frank and was in the class of '78.I was shocked and saddened to hear that Frank had passed away.I had the honor of meeting Frank in 2006 when he attended a BBQ/golf tournament with some of our fellow classmates and spent some time with him catching up on old times.I am also glad that we had a photo taken of us.My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

Dear Orlando Family,
I am shocked and saddened to hear this news today. I knew Frank through the band of brothers that is UNB Rugby, past and present. Frank was a good friend to me and a credit to himself, his family and his origins. I am honoured to have known him.

Frank old boy,

After all these years I have never forgotten you. You were one of the toughest flankers I have ever played with on the rugby pitch and one of the nicest blokes I have ever laughed with in the pub. This world will not be the same without you mate. :-)

It is with great sadness that I heard of Frank's passing. As a curmudgeon of UNB rugby I knew Frank from skinny minny rookie to veteran hairy "gorilla".
His great smile, ready laugh and gentle spirit endeared him to us all.
I look forward to running wind sprints and sharing the campfire with him when we meet again.
Sincere condolences from my family to all the Orlando family and friends.

Dear Sophie, Danny and Kim,

John and I were so shocked to hear the tragic news about Frank. Please accept our deepest condolences for your sad loss and extend them to your family and Frank's children.

I have very fond memories of cousin Frank's teasing and joking during my many visits to your home when we were younger and I will miss his mischievous smile.

To Everyone in Frank's family and Circle of Friends,

We will be thinking of you all as you remember a wonderful man during the visitation and service over the next few days. It's truly incomprehensible to think that he's gone.

Frank lit up the room with his warmth, laughter and wicked sense of humour.

He was an incredibly loyal and supportive friend and "brother from another mother" to my brother Jamie Hooper and our family (The Barrett - Hooper family) will treasure our memories of great times at our cottage with Frank. He would give you the shirt off your back and do anything to help a friend. We will really miss him.

Above all, for Frank, everything he did in his life was for his kids; to help them, support them and take care of them. He was a wonderful father and they will carry that certain knowledge in their hearts forever.

His sudden loss seems hard to understand right now, but we hope and pray that over time we will all come to feel that the loss of Frank far too early will be overshadowed by the greater gift of having known him at all.

- On behalf of the wider
Barrett/Hooper family

I am shocked and saddened to hear the tragic news about Frank. I went to F.M.C.H.S. with Frank and although we didn't really keep in touch (except through my Mom who lives accross the road)I always considered him a friend. We had a lot of laughs in the day. It's a sad day for anyone who had the good fortune of knowing Frank and my thoughts are with all who loved him.

To all of you who grieve Frank's terrible loss,
Though you were all so far apart, I know through many conversations with Kim and Sophie just how much Frank meant to you and your families. He will leave a terrible hole your heart that time may help heal, but never entirely take away. Our thoughts are with you during this terrible time and will continue to be as you enter a new chapter of your lives without your cherished son, brother and father.
