Frank Wallis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 28, 2025.
Frank Stephen Wallis passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest on March 9, 2025, in Alexandria, Virginia, at the age of 67.

Born on November 17, 1957, Frank was the son of Doris and Scott Wallis. A memorial for Frank was held on Wednesday, March 19, at 1:00 pm at the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, VA. Frank grew up in College Park, Md., attended the University of Maryland, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies. He worked for the Federal government and Arizona state government. He enjoyed camping, traveling, canoeing and the outdoors. Frank had a great appreciation for art and loved to cook. Having a wonderful sense of humor, he often came up with witty lines. He was caring and generous, even though he never had a lot of money. He had an eye for beauty and felt a lot of gratitude for his parents, caring for his father after his stroke and for his mother after his dad's death. Frank was a life-long learner in art, geography, world history, poetry, literature, different cultures, and French cooking. He regularly shared his cooking during "coffee hour" with the Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church congregation. He truly appreciated the friends he made through the church, finding so much kindness and support there. Cynthia Lewis was a particularly special lifelong friend. A major event in his life was the tragic murder of his cousin Pamela. Health challenges occurred throughout his life as well as mental health challenges. Frank wished there had been a mental health program for children available to him when he was young like We R H.O.P.E. If you'd like to make a contribution in Frank's honor, please send it to We R H.O.P.E, (https://werhope.org). He is survived by his sister, Ginger Wallis, his cousins Karen Hayes and her husband Mark, Wade Stephen, Lori Jarman and her husband Doug, Steve Eccleston, David Eccleston and his wife Katie, and friends.
