Frank Zupancic Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2024.
Frank Joseph Zupancic II, aged 89, passed away on May 20, 2024, in Baltimore, MD. Born on January 1, 1935, Frank lived a vibrant life marked by his spirited personality as a storyteller, prankster, and the life of any gathering. He loved dogs and would take his wherever he was going. He completed his education at Snowden High School before advancing to Pittsburgh Technical Institute, where he furthered his technical expertise.

Frank served in the Navy aboard the USS Wisconsin from 1953 to 1958, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to his country. Following his military service, he embarked on a career that included founding Frank's Lab Services with his wife Hazel , a company specializing in servicing laboratory equipment. In the past, he had held a partnership at MZM Environmental and worked at Westinghouse, contributing significantly to both lab and hospital equipment maintenance.

Frank was a passionate outdoorsman, often found hunting, fishing, or trap shooting. He was also an enthusiastic participant in watching motorcycle races with his friends. He was a member of both the Marriottsville, Carroll County and Stoney Creek gun clubs, where he enjoyed spending his time. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Hazel Marie (Bioni) Zupancic; his son, Frank Joseph Zupancic III; his daughter, Tracy Lynn (Zupancic) Hartson and son-in-law, Kenneth Hartson; along with his cherished grandchildren, Joseph Stegemerten, Seth Hartson, and Cole Hartson.

As per his wishes, Frank donated his body to science. A family service will be held upon the return of his remains, allowing loved ones to honor his memory privately.
