FRANKLIN McCREA Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 16, 2011.
Franklin R. McCrea KINGSTREE - Funeral Service for Franklin R. McCrea will be held 1PM Sat. Sept. 17, 2011 at Midway Baptist Church, Kingstree with Rev. Dr. Herman Gibson officiating. Burial will following in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Dimery and Rogers Funeral Home in Kingstree. Franklin died Mon. Sept. 12, 2011 at his residence after an illness. He was born in Kingstree, SC on Aug. 9, 1963 to Jasper and Onetta Singletary McCrea. He pursued a career as a Draftsman at Williamsburg Technical College upon his graduation from Kingstree Senior High School where he had been an active member of the school Band. Not wanting to travel his life's journey alone, he married the former Debra Milan on September 29, 1984. As a result of this union of love, two wonderful daughters, Tiffany and Shawnta, were born. Franklin joined Midway Baptist Church at an early age. He served his Country in the US Army for eight years. When he completed his tour of duty and returned to his home, he made certain that his full time job at the Firestone Building Products Plant in Kingstree-which he held for 20 years- did not interfere with his love for fishing and hunting. Pittsburg Steelers, be informed that Franklin R. McCrea supported your team 750% and could be found coaching and cheering each game from his TV "sideline" seat! One precious little granddaughter, Heaven McCrea, preceded him to the"Land of Milk and Honey" to help God prepare for his "Homecoming!" Memory-keepers of the sounds of his laughter, love and devotion are his parents: Jasper and Onetta McCrea; his wife, Debra Milan McCrea; his daughters, Tiffany (Demond) McFadden of Columbia, SC; Shawnta McCrea of Midway Park, NC.; grandchildren, Breyaunt Fulton, Dillon McFadden; sister, Justine (Larry) Moore of Greeleyville, SC ; brother, Cornelius McCrea of Columbia, SC; Mother - in - law, Idell Milan of Louisville, Ky.; Godmother-in-law, Janine Mae Golden of Youngstown, Ohio; God brother-in-law, Willie Golden Jr. of Youngstown, Ohio; God sisters-in-law, Tammy Milan, Chamey Gummer, Jackie Wheeler of Louisville, Ky.; brothers-in-law, William Milan, Robert Milan of Louisville, Ky; a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.
