Sherry and I want to extend our sincere condolences to Bernice and the Armbruster family. We both have many great memories of our time with Fred. Growing up, Fred was Sherry’s neighbor and playmate. During high school years Fred was my good friend. Beginning at 3 AM every Sunday, we delivered all the newspapers on the East side of Jim Thorpe. When Fred and Bernice and Sherry and I were young married couples, we lived in the same apartment complex in Allentown. We socialized regularly both in Allentown and on our return trips to Jim Thorpe. The memory most vivid to us is our couple’s trip to Jamaica. From his brother Tom flying us from Allentown to the Philadelphia airport, to Fred’s diving exhibition at the resort it was an amazing fun packed week. We are both saddened by Fred’s passing. He was a good friend with a big heart, a talented craftsmen, a proud member of the US Navy and a person who always tried to uplift the spirits of those around him.

Before he built houses and projects he/we built many tree houses and huts in and around Germantown Road next to St Jos's camp. I'm sure some remain. Many memories remain but with great sadness.

Bernice and Family, there are no words of comfort to express this loss. We are so grateful he came in to our lives and provided us with his wisdom, politics, an incredible memory of funny poems and laughter. He was a true patriot and dear friend. He will be missed at bonfires . He has left this world far to soon, but, is no longer suffering and will remain in our hearts forever.
Love Cathy and Bob. Sail the oceans of heaven my friend. God Speed.
