Fredericka Jacob Obituary
SR. FREDERICKA
A Pittsburgh native and a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namour for 52 years, died Friday, March 19, 2004 at age 72 of a septic infection. She earned a doctorate in chemistry from Johns Hopkins University and taught at Trinity College in Washington, DC before leaving in 1966 to serve as a missionary in Nairobi, Kenya. she served with Catholic Relief Services and others for more than 30 years, supervising and evaluating food and nutrition programs. She lectured on nutrition to medical students at Gondar Medical College in Ethiopia and at Nairobi University in Kenya and later worked with the African Faith and Justice Network in Washington, DC with Americrops in Baltimore. She is survived by her sister, Regina J. (Sally) Kuhn and by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass was offered March 23 in Baltimore.
