In Loving Memory of Fredrick Lee Petersen

Fredrick Lee Petersen, age 70, of Chandler, AZ passed away on August 13, 2024. Born on February 16, 1954, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Fred was a beloved husband, father, and friend to all.

Fred is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Dona, his children, Eric Petersen (Michelle) and Dawn Donausky (Kevin). He is also survived by his sister Ileen. He was survived by his brother Rex Clayton Petersen until he tragically passed on August 16, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents Lyle and Ura Joy Petersen.

After honorably serving in the United States Army maintaining aircraft in Korea, Fred had a long and fulfilling career as an expert engineer with over 45 years of experience in the enterprise sector, supporting computer hardware and equipment in data centers. He was dedicated to his work and had a passion for technology. He is remembered as always being willing to lend a helping hand, share his knowledge, mentor those around him, and approached every challenge with unwavering positivity. Fred had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and appreciated.

Beyond his professional achievements, Fred was a wonderful person who touched the lives of many with his kindness and generosity. He was a pillar of strength and a source of encouragement to all of those who knew him. Fred found joy in sharing funny stories and making people laugh. He also enjoyed nature and going fishing should the occasion arise. He was an avid collector of knives, guns, and humorous USB drives. Fred could frequently be found in local casinos testing his luck, or in local data centers keeping our digital world humming along. But more than anything he loved spending time with his family, friends, and co-workers.

Fred was a cherished colleague, a dear friend, a loving and caring husband, and the best father in the whole wide world. He will be dearly missed. He left us far too soon.

If you knew Fred, he and his family would be honored if you could share a fond memory or story on this website.

A celebration of life will be held on August 24th, 2024 anytime between the hours of 1 and 4 PM at the Chandler Hilton Hotel, 2929 W Frye Rd, Chandler, AZ 85224.

I had the pleasure of working with Fred for many years. I learned from him and like Fred I also shared my experience with others. I recall back in the day a few of us would go to the gun range and target shooting for a day. And from time to time go to a burger fast food for lunch. Fred was a fun person to spend time with.you did what you loved and loved what you do.

NEVER had a bad visit with Fred. Even though I didn't need to, I would visit with him in the data center to just visit with him.

Fred was always willing to help out and just do what was "right". It didn't matter what should or shouldn't be done, there was always a clear path for the right thing to do and that is the path Fred took. I am one of Fred's Enterprise customers, and on every call, you always hoped it was Fred and his tool case that wheeled on site. You knew you were in good hands, and the problem was only moments away from being resolved. Oh!, to be a screwdriver in that tool kit, and be privy to and an instrument of that man's skill and knowledge. We will miss him. May he rest in peace at God's side.

Fred had a way of making you smile no matter what you had going on. I can't remember a time he wasn't wearing a smile.

I truly enjoyed working with Fred, extremely knowledgeable and could fix any hardware problem we encountered, I could always count on Fred... I have known him for over 30 years, dating back to my years at Motorola, I will miss working with Fred and our conversations, a true Patriot...
