REISNER, FRIEDA (HOROWITZ) BOARDMAN Frieda (Horowitz) Boardman Reisner, age 94, died April 2 at the Hebrew Home and Hospital, West Hartford. She was the daughter of the late Irving and Mary Horowitz. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph and Alfred Horowitz and sister, Ruth Tessler Siderowf. She was married to the late Morton Boardman and later to Louis Reisner. She is survived by her son Larry Boardman and wife Carol and her daughter Rhoda Boardman Winik. And the true loves of her life are her grandchildren: Jill Glickman and her husband Michael Hill, Marnie Balaski and her husband Darryl Balaski, Marc Glickman and Dr. Adam Boardman and his wife Sonia Shah. The jewels of her life are her great-grandchildren, Sarah Hill, Rachel Hill, Jaden Balaski and Mason Glickman. Frieda was a "fashionista" who prided herself on dressing up everyday (including her high heeled shoes). Behind the flashy hot pink eyeglasses was a very determined woman who lived every moment. Just this past week she went from her hospital bed to a Passover dinner at her grandson Marc's home in Windsor. She retired from the Travelers and played mah jong at the West Hartford Senior Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 1pm at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford. Interment will follow at the John Hay Lodge Cemetery in Hartford. Her family will welcome friends and family after the interment at the home of Larry and Carol Boardman, 22 Adams Road, Weatogue, CT. On Friday friends may visit the family at Rhoda Boardman Winik's home, 120 Short Beach Road, Unit #4D, Harbour Village, Branford from 1pm to sundown. Donations may be made in Frieda's memory to the American Cancer Society, Waterford, CT or the West Hartford Senior Center.
