GLOUCESTER — Gail P. (Edgecomb) Consiglio, 71, wife of Philip J. Consiglio, of Gloucester, died on Sunday morning, Oct. 25, 2009 at the Addison Gilbert Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Beverly, on Sept. 16, 1938, daughter of the late John and Frances (Little) Edgecomb. Gail was a graduate of Manchester High School and graduated from hairdresser school.

After her marriage to Phil, she stayed home to care for her family.

Her favorite pastime was playing Keno with Phil at Cameron's Restaurant.

During her illness, she received wonderful care from her daughter and caregiver Francine and her company, the Caregiver Homes of Massachusetts. Gail's family was also very grateful to the nurses at the Addison Gilbert Hospital, Intensive Care Unit who went above and beyond to provide her with exceptional care. Also, to Dr. Arsenian and Dr. Stroizer for all they did for Gail.

In addition to her husband Philip, she is survived by her four children, Selena Robbins and husband Blaine, Francine Consiglio, Deborah Townsend and husband Chuck, Frank Consiglio, all of Gloucester; grandchildren, Brian Robbins, Heather and Kristina Townsend, Rosalie Consiglio, all of Gloucester and Frankie Consiglio of Fairhaven, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Mel Dix and her husband Albert; and her brother, Bud Little.

ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to a charity of one's choice.

Who didn't love Gail? Always smiling, even after a treatment. She is at peace, but we will all remember her for being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. I am so sorry. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
