Gary Alan Greiner, 60, of Tyler Road, Hart, went to be with his Heavenly Father, Friday, November 16, 2018, at Mercy Health Hackley Campus in Muskegon. Gary was born on May 31, 1958, in Hart Hospital, Oceana County Michigan to Sebastian Louis Greiner and Martha Ann (Lipski) Greiner. He was the 3rd child of six and went to the St Joseph Catholic-Weare Crystal School for elementary. He then went to Hart High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1976. He was a wrestler and was recognized with many awards and medals for his efforts.
Gary served in the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1981.
Gary loved fast cars and was the proud owner of a 1970 Chevell SS and a 1973 ½ Grand AM. He was very fond of Motocross racing and spent many hours with friends doing the motocross circuits in his early days. He rode the 250cc Class and won numerous medals and Trophies. Gary was a meticulous farmer. His fields were a point of pride for him, whether they were his own fields or those of family or another farmer. He always did a magnificent job at whatever he did. He was an extremely conscientious and a very hard worker.
Gary was a soft spoken, quiet person, but had a very good sense of humor. He would have a way of cracking a joke with a very serious face, he would pause, then crack up laughing, just about the time the person started to wonder if he was serious. He adored his kids and had a very hard time saying no to their requests. He was always available with a helping hand whenever someone needed him. Gary worked many years on his family farm, Greiner Green Acres, as well as on his own farm and for various others in the area.
Gary is survived by: his children, Jared Greiner, Alexandra Greiner and Evan Greiner; his granddaughter, Alyviah Grace Greiner; his father, Sebastian “Bud” (Betty) Greiner; his siblings, Bradley Greiner, Cynthia (Ted) Hodges, James Greiner, Lisa (Darryl) Lung and Todd (Sarah) Greiner; and many nieces and nephews.
Gary preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides and his mother, Martha Ann (Lipski) Greiner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 1, 2018, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2380 W. Jackson Road, Hart, MI, 49420, with Father Phillip Sliwinski presiding. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A luncheon will be held following Mass at the St. Joseph Parish Hall.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
