Gary Mancuso

With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we share the passing of Gary Mancuso, age 74, on August 7, 2025.

Born on July 3, 1951 in Oak Park, Illinois, Gary was a beacon of kindness, quiet resilience, and steadfast integrity. His warm presence and genuine care for others touched countless lives, as he always extended a helping hand or a supportive word. Gary's infectious joy for life illuminated the world around him, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

In his distinguished real estate career, Gary served as president of the Oak Park Board of Realtors from 2006 to 2008 and was honored as the 2003 Realtor of the Year. He took immense pride in guiding first-time homebuyers through the intricate process of purchasing their dream homes, earning widespread respect for his dedication and leadership. Beyond his professional achievements, Gary's generosity shone through his active support for numerous charities and community organizations.

Gary leaves behind his beloved husband of 45 years, Jerry Farmer; his brother Greg and sister-in law Mary Mancuso; his sister Gail and brother-in-law Brian Downs; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold his memory dear. Gary was preceded in death by his loving parents Jerry and Vi Mancuso.

True to his selfless spirit, Gary chose to donate his body to medical research, a final act of generosity that reflects his lifelong curiosity and commitment to improving lives. His contribution will advance scientific and medical discoveries, leaving a legacy that will benefit generations to come.

Though Gary will be deeply missed, his light will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of his remarkable life will be held at a later date.
