Fran I can't believe its been 10 years. There is not a time that when I get on my bike that I don't think of Gary. You won't believe how many people ask me about my bike and I always say I had the best mechanic working on it and he was a great friend. They praise Gary's work. I miss him a lot the gentle giant. Memories last forever. He is your angel watching over you Fran. Love ya Ricky.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I was very sad to hear of Gary's loss just yesterday after his services were held. I would have been there to give my condolences to his family and Fran. I have known Gary since I was 17 and spent a lot of time in that corner of S. Willow several years ago. It has been a few years since iv'e seen him but will always remember his smile and how he use to make old Willis smile :-). He had such a love for his dogs. You will be missed Gary but now you can ride free of pain for eternity with the Angels!

My Dearest Friend Fran,

Words cannot describe how I feel right now after hearing about Gary. My heart and prayers go out to you, your family and friends. Gary to me was not just a friend, he was my brother. I remember the first day I met him. He was big and tall and I thought wow, I hope he likes me because I was actually afraid of him. As I got to know and love this man, I found him to be very caring, loving and gracious. A man you could trust and one with the largest heart in the world. I was honored and privileged to have known Gary and to be with him the week, Fran you were away. That week will remain in my mind and heart forever because I can't remember any other times that I laughed so hard and has such a great time in my life and it was because of Gary. I could see every day that Gary was in pain but he never said anything about it because of the type of man he was. Gary didn't want to burden anyones lives with his problems. Gary is a very special breed of a person and that's why he was loved by many and especially loved by me. The tears I cry today are tears of happiness and joy that I have known you Fran and Gary throughout all these years. Fran, I know for a fact that this gentle giant loved you very much because he always told me that you were his backbone, the fuel to keep him going. Gary my friend, if you can hear me, I love you, may you never have anymore pain, ride with the wind at your back and the sun in your eyes. Gary you are the true definition of the word FRIEND.
