Gary Shaw Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 10, 2025.
Knoxville - Gary L. Shaw, born on September 3, 1948, in Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, in his hometown of Knoxville. He was 76 years old.

Gary was a proud native of Knoxville, where he spent his life building a legacy rooted in hard work and passion. He took great pride in his craft as a welder, dedicating himself to the precision and strength that defined his trade. His commitment to excellence and integrity in his work left a lasting impression on those who knew him professionally and personally.

Beyond his career, Gary found joy and freedom riding motorcycles-an activity that brought him both exhilaration and peace. Whether cruising down open roads or tinkering with bikes in the garage, he embraced the spirit of adventure and independence that came with every ride.

Gary is lovingly remembered by his daughter Leslie Hickle and her husband Brad Hickle. He also shared a deep and enduring bond with Sylvia England, his best friend and the love of his life. He will be missed by his step daughter, Beranda Lona. Kim Hamlin Osborne also held a meaningful place in Gary's life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, TJ Shaw and Irene (Davis) Shaw.

In keeping with Gary's wishes, no flowers are requested. Those who wish to honor his memory are encouraged to donate to their favorite charity in his name.

May Gary's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a reminder of a life lived with purpose, passion, and heart.
