On Thursday, February 13, 2020, Gay Louise Palmer (Warnack) of Mt. Lebanon passed away at the age of 69. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to Bob Palmer; daughter of the late Henry and Jean Warnack and sister of John (Heather) Warnack, the late James Warnack, and Merri (Bill) Clark. She is survived by daughter, Kristi (Bryant) Harrison and Brian Palmer, and grandsons, Cody and Connor. She was born in Clairton, PA, later attended Thomas Jefferson High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh. She worked as a research librarian at the Learning Research & Development Center at the University of Pittsburgh. After raising her children, she worked in various endeavors in the education field. She cared deeply for her family, neighbors, and sometimes strangers. She did this not of duty or obligation, but because this was naturally who she was – a compassionate spirit. She was always the first to offer help and often had a kind and sincere loving remark to give. She always saw the beauty in every person she met. In her later years, Gay volunteered at The Neighborhood Academy where she found joy in interacting and working with the students and staff. A memorial ceremony will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 4 p.m. in the chapel at The Neighborhood Academy, 709 N. Aiken Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Neighborhood Academy, https://www.theneighborhoodacademy.org/support/. Arrangements by BEINHAUERS, 412 531-4000. We were always so happy to see Gay out walking. Although, we were worried with all the cars passing her on the street. Gay was such a lovely, sweet person. Never had a negative word to say about anyone. Thoughts and prayers sent to her family. She will certainly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Sincerely,
Cliff & Mary

Our deepest condolences to the family for your loss of Gay. She was a special person, a true friend, loyal, caring, genuine, positive, helpful, uplifting & full of love. Her actions were reflected in the life she lived & her faith kept her going. When we lived in town, we had many great & fun times cheering for our sons & their friends during their soccer & baseball games. Although it's been nearly 30 years since our family left Mt. Lebanon, we stayed in touch with Gay & Bob. We'd reminisce about the good old days. Thank you for the memories, Gay. You have blessed us beyond measure. Rest In Peace, Gay. We will never forget you.

Gay was like a sister to me for many years. There was no kinder, more thoughtful, funnier, caring, loving person than her. She would always remember details about my family, other people, places we went,, things we did and always was concerned about how everyone else was doing. She wanted to help in any way she could, even close to the end of her life. She loved her family so much and I know she would have enjoyed seeing her grandchildren grow up. I miss you so much, dear friend.

Gay was one of the first people to welcome me to Mt. Lebanon. She loved going to Brian's baseball games and walking in our neighborhood. She always had the time to stop and talk. She will be missed.
