Coach George,

I can't explain how much of an honor it was to be a player of yours at San Xavier while you coached with my dad Steve Lopez. The impact you had on myself, and my teammates and friends was enormous. The morals and values you possessed as a husband, father, grandfather, sheriff, coach, volunteer, instructor, and many more have been passed along to so many people around you; and your family will continue that legacy knowing you created and provided an excellent foundation to build around.

I speak for my friends because I know they valued you very much for always giving us that competitive edge to want to go out and do our best, (and to quit jacking around when we wouldn't listen). They all send their condolences:

-Ben Sanchez
-Michael (Rodriquez) Campas
-Rene Patino

George,
You always supported my dad and helped in so many ways that is beyond my knowledge. I was only 9 years old when he moved into the Burglary unit with you; I can't thank you enough for taking my dad off the streets to give him a better opportunity to spend time with his family to provide a better quality of life for his family too. My dad always spoke the most highest of you, had the upmost respect, and I can't explain how thankful I am for everybody in the Carillo family to accept and acknowledge my dad as basically family.

You will be dearly missed by all the lives you've touched. Rest well knowing you were more than just a cop, or just a dad/grandfather, or just a coach.

You were extremely more than that to so many people in this world, rest well knowing you have left a legacy for your family to continue in your name.

Much love Coach George. You were truly one of the best!

George: You will be missed by those you touched. I met you in life when I worked and lived in the San Xavier District as a Deputy. During my career at the Pima County Sheriff's Dept you were a mentor to those who were fortunate to know you. You always spoke highly of your love for family, teaching me your reputation defines who you are in life. Bless you brother and thank you for your friendship and service, until we meet again.

Dear Linda, Georgina, Lanette, and Marcus,

My prayers go out for you and for George, asking for our gentle Lord's mercy and peace.
I remember George's and Linda's great service to the faith community of Our Lady of Fatima parish. George placed his gifts at the altar of our Lord Jesus in serving his fellow parishioners with dedication and a great attention to detail. Fr. McGloin would always tell me how much he could count on Linda and George when it came to helping out.
What I remember most from the Fatima days (!988-92) was your united family. You worshiped together, served together, and you were very supportive of others together. Fr. McGloin and I would always comment on how "together" and "loving" were the Carrillo's. What an inspiring legacy that George leaves behind, a loving and united family.
Linda, the many times you taught the children of Fatima, as their School of religion teacher, that their is indeed a resurrection waiting for all of us who love God and their neighbor. Well, may that TRUTH you taught be of great consolation and motivation to serve others now to you and your children and all your family members.
Lent ends in the Easter Resurrection; may George, through the infinite mercy of God, be received into that Glory of God for eternity. And my final prayer for your family and all of us is that we may be strong in our personal journey to always place God first in our lives so as to join George and our loved ones in heaven.
You will be remembered at the altar of prayer.
F. Carlos

I was in George Carrillos class at the Pima County Sheriffs Department. I have such fond memories of him. We had such a great time. He oriented me to the south side. We enjoyed donuts together. We laughed a lot and watched each others back. Love you George, always!

George was one of the kindest men I have ever known. He and I worked together off and on many times during our careers with the department. I recall one of his greatest strengths was as an instructor, particularly pursuit driving. I was lucky to have known him and he will be missed. I pray God keeps his family safe and gives them strength in the months and years ahead. George, rest in peace. You are in a far better place!
