George MACKIE Obituary
Peacefully, at Mickleham near Dorking, on December 12, 2017, aged 90. Emeritus Professor of Applied Mathematics, Edinburgh University, born in Tain, beloved husband of Betty, much loved father to Kathryn and David, grandfather to George, Alistair and Lola.
"A gentle end for a gentle man".
A private service of remembrance and celebration of his life will take place, on December 27, at St Stephen-on-the-Downs, Langley Vale, Epsom Downs, Surrey.

George, I only knew you a short time but you will always have a place in my heart. Sorry was not able to see you since you moved to down south but my thoughts have always been with you.
You will be missed by many in Edinburgh. You are now safely in the arms of God. God bless you and your family especially your wife Betty. XXX My thoughts and best wishes are with them.
