Although it has been almost 50 years since I worked for George at the Canadian High Commission in London my memories of him are vivid and strong. Initially, I was in awe of him because of his high army rank and his war record. Moreover, he had risen high in the Public Service after the war and was holding the most prestigious position in the immigration Foreign Service in London. As I got to know him my admiration continued to grow for the man whose sterling qualities inspired the respect and loyalty of all those he directed.
George Reynolds was a great man and a great representative of Canada abroad. Although it has been decades since we last met I have never forgotten him and never will.

Hi George,
I've been meaning to write in your guestbook for a very long time; ever since your memorial.
I really enjoyed looking at your family photos with you; I met your daughters at the memorial and I was so happy to finally have the opportunity to put a name to the faces you spoke so fondly of. I also wanted to personally thank you for changing my perspective on who war veterans are. Before meeting you I had a preconceived notion that most of them would be crusty old ornery people; which is fine they've certainly earned the right to be that way if this is indeed who they are. You taught me that generally they have a greater appreciation for life than most other people. You my friend certainly did; I could see it in your eyes. I remember asking you something along the lines of what you like most about life and you said "being alive." I also admire how seriously you took the call of duty.
Enjoy Heaven and thanks for our freedom.

My most sincere condolences to his family.
George was my superior, colleague and friend during our assignments together at the Canadian High Commission, London,England, and at the Canadian Embassy, Cologne, Germany. He was a fine and dedicated Canadian, always placing the needs of his staff before those of himself. Rest in peace.

I recall spending an October day in 1972 with George in Kampala reviewing the applications of several thousand Ugandan Asians. He was vastly senior to me but was kind and courteous and applied himself to the task with tremendous seriousness.
A good man. My condolences to his family.
