George W. Waldron Jr.

Mr. Waldron, age 90 years, passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2015 at his home. He was born in Bay City on August 23, 1925 to the late George W. and Mary (Hudzinski) Waldron. George was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and retired after 34 years of service from Dow Chemical Company where he was a chemical engineer. He was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church and was an avid Bingo player, fisherman and golfer. On April 6, 1945, he married the former Shirley E. Schmidt and she preceded him in death on September 5, 2006. Survivors include his son, David (Renee) Waldron, 3 grandchildren: Jeff (Missy) Waldron, Melissa (Steve) Moore and Jeremy (Jamie) Waldron, and 12 great-grandchildren: Sharee, Dustin, Tyler, J.J., Ike, Jake, Deion, Logan, Nick, Chase, Brianna and Austin. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tracy Boks, 1 brother and 3 sisters. Funeral and Committal services will be on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. The Rev. Sharon Voelker will officiate. Private interment will be in Owen Cemetery in Thomas Township. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 3-8 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 608 N. Madison Ave., Bay City. Memorial contributions can be made to Covenant VNA Hospice.
