I first met Dave in 1981 and was immediately impressed by his mastery of the English language. Dave was a walking thesaurus! I would search the dictionary at night to find obscure words to stump him with, but he never failed to provide a full definition and correct spelling.
Dave was also a super salesman and never took "no" for an answer. He could sell ice cubes to Eskimos in the winter!
When my wife Patti had cancer his sage advice helped me win my battle with the insurance company. Dave was never too busy to help a friend.
My deepest condolences to Michaela. Dave was one of-of-kind and he will be missed by many.

Dave and I shared many ventures together. As always, Dave was the brains that made the wheel turn. You could rely on Dave's solid advice, but you had to ask. He rarely volunteered information unless you asked. His friendship was never conditional. You could depend on him. Dave's knowledge base was huge and was not limited in scope. Business, legal, medical, etc you name it and he had a grip on it. When he did not, he would find out and get back to you. I miss him.

Dave was my elder brother by a year and nine days, and especially for our first 12-13 years he was, along with Mom, my protector, a position that called for sacrifice. Dave stayed in his high school, and he stayed in his home town of Omaha to the very end.
In pursuit of excellence, Dave was inclined to choose his own literature and his own mentors. He was driven to practice relentlessly. Night after night in his teens Dave perfected his deadly jump shot at our driveway hoop, usually to
constant repetition of The Rolling Stones' "Jumping Jack Flash" blaring from our bedroom window.
Dave's knowledge of insurance and law was notably deployed on behalf of certain deserving underdogs. So many of Dave's goals were pursued uphill, against stiff opposition. He never relented.
Deepest gratitude to Dave's wife Michaela for fighting beside him through those last years of compounding physical challenges. As the Stones had it,
"It is all right now", Dave. It's all right now.

Dave was more than a friend to me, he was family. This is a sad loss. Dave will be deeply missed. Dave taught me a lot over the years. He was a great man. I was lucky to know him the way I did.

Dave and I were good friends for nearly 60 years. He was three years older than me and I always looked up to Dave. He was very intelligent and good with words. A man with a huge vocabulary! I´ve always admired his big heart and courage. He was David against Goliath, not afraid to take on the big guy to serve justice for his friends and loved ones. Dave was a great friend and I miss him!

Starting in the late 1950's shooting baskets for hours in my driveway, to Jefferson Grade School, Cub Scouts, watching Gregor on Sci Fi to Beveridge Jr High School, to shooting baskets in your driveway, to Mosser's Basketball Camps @ Elkhorn St. John's, to Burke High and the decades beyond... we shared some great times as well as some real tragic ones. Throughout both, our friendship was truly one of my life's blessings. Thank you Dave!
My love also to Mark and the rest of your family.
Godspeed my dear friend.

Dave was one of the smartest, most interesting person I have ever known. As it says- great listener, well spoken and extremely intelligent. Race same time wonder quirky sense of humor. He will be dearly missed!

Dave and I first became friends back in 1961 when we played on the same Pony League baseball team. Over the next 10 years we were classmates at Lewis & Clark Jr. High, Burke-Beveridge (Class of '67), where we played varsity baseball and American Legion ball together, and later attended UNO together. My wife and I bought our first life insurance policy from Dave, and later he was instrumental in me landing a great job with a real estate developer early in my career. After I got into banking as a lender he referred some great bank clients to me. If I needed to find a good cheap car for one of my sons, or needed to find someone to tow a car at an odd hour all I had to do was call my friend going back 50+ years. Dave, rest in peace my friend, you deserve it.

We have memories of great conversations with Dave. He was thoughtful, attentive and intelligent. However, his greatest quality was his compassion for others. I can´t think of a time when Dave wasn´t helping someone, whether business or family related. He saw the strengths in everyone and always made us feel special. He will be sincerely missed.
