Georgina Brownsey Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jan. 7 to Jan. 8, 2008.
BROWNSEY, Georgina Rose Born in Duncan, BC on June 4, 1925, Mom passed away peacefully on January 4, 2008 in her 82nd year. Mom will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her loving husband of 60 years, Reg, daughter Joanne (husband Terry), daughter-in-law Julie, and granddaughters Heather and Jana (husband Shane). Predeceased by her loving son Mark in 2005. Throughout her life, Mom was devoted to her family, her church and her community. She was a life-time member of the Duncan United Church Woman's Auxiliary, a 55-year member of Cowichan District Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, and a faithful canvasser for several local charities. It was her joy to volunteer in the Church Nursery for 25 years, seeing some of the babies she rocked and tended, now with babies of their own. She willingly stepped in where needed and considered it a privilege to be of service to others. Mom was happiest in her kitchen, always ready to put the kettle on for tea or to make room at the table for one more. She enjoyed many happy retirement years with Dad, travelling in their trailer and to various parts of the world. We have been blessed beyond measure to have had this wonderful lady in our lives and we will remember her always. Our deepest thanks to the caring and kind staff of Cairnsmore Place during mom's final years. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Geo at Duncan United Church, 246 Ingram Street, Duncan BC on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 1:30 pm, Reverend Barwise officiating. The Lord gives one blessing unlike any other The heartwarming love of a wonderful mother." Emily Matthews 435670
