Gerald Strunz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 9, 2024.
Gerald Jess Strunz, affectionately known as "Jerry," peacefully departed this world on November 30, 2024, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family. Born on January 22, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa, Jerry's journey through life was marked by faith, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones and community.

Jerry's early years were spent in Yuma, Arizona, where he began to lay the foundation of a life characterized by hard work and dedication. Eventually, he moved to California, where he became known for his remarkable ability to transform homes, one remodel at a time. His work was not just about construction; it was about creating spaces filled with love and memories, reflecting his deep belief in the sanctity of home and family.

A man of many joys, Jerry was an incredible provider, a devoted father, a loving grandfather, a cherished brother, uncle and a loyal friend. His life was a testament to the power of faith and the strength of family bonds. Jerry's spirit was one of generosity and kindness, and he touched the lives of many with his gentle wisdom and compassionate heart. His ability to inspire and communicate with people was a gift that he shared freely, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met, in his own special way.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary, who stood by his side through life's many seasons. Together, they built a family rooted in love and faith, raising their children Jeri (Dave), Chele (Tony), and Gunnar (Vanessa) with the same values that guided their own lives. Jerry's legacy continues through his beautiful grandchildren, Derrica (Andrew), Ian, Ethan (Natalie), Gage, Cole, Ella, and Emma, and his great-granddaughters, Abby & Ilah, each of whom carries a piece of his spirit forward.

His siblings, Nancy, Tom, Calvin(Cindy), Cindy(Bebop), Eddie (Dee Dee), Carol (Pat), Cheryl (Ken), Chris (Fred), Karen (Ted), and Robbie (Lois), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, aunt and uncle mourn his passing but celebrate the life of a man who was a pillar of strength, unity and a beacon of love.

Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Leola Van Horn, his father, his mother Zae & stepfather Ed, his brother Bob (Aunt Lein), Cal and Lollie. Though they have gone before him, Jerry's faith assures us that they are reunited in the presence of the Lord, where there is no more pain or sorrow, only eternal peace and joy.

A Mass in Jerry's honor will be held at San Antonio Parish in Anaheim Hills at 10 a.m. on January 4, 2025, followed by a celebration of life at Lamppost Pizza, Post Pub 5091 Richfield RD Yorba Linda Ca 92886. This gathering will be a time to remember and rejoice in the life of a man who lived with purpose and love.

Jerry's life was a journey of faith, and his passing is a reminder of the promise of eternal life. As we bid farewell to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, we find comfort in knowing that Jerry is at rest in the arms of the Lord, his spirit soaring free, his soul at peace. His legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire and guide those who knew him, a testament to a life well-lived and a faith unwavering.
