Jerry's early years were spent in Yuma, Arizona, where he began to lay the foundation of a life characterized by hard work and dedication. Eventually, he moved to California, where he became known for his remarkable ability to transform homes, one remodel at a time. His work was not just about construction; it was about creating spaces filled with love and memories, reflecting his deep belief in the sanctity of home and family.

His ability to inspire and communicate with people was a gift that he shared freely, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met, in his own special way.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary, who stood by his side through life's many seasons. Together, they built a family rooted in love and faith, raising their children Jeri (Dave), Chele (Tony), and Gunnar (Vanessa) with the same values that guided their own lives. Jerry's legacy continues through his beautiful grandchildren, Derrica (Andrew), Ian, Ethan (Natalie), Gage, Cole, Ella, and Emma, and his great-granddaughters, Abby & Ilah, each of whom carries a piece of his spirit forward.
His siblings, Nancy, Tom, Calvin(Cindy), Cindy(Bebop), Eddie (Dee Dee), Carol (Pat), Cheryl (Ken), Chris (Fred), Karen (Ted), and Robbie (Lois), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, aunt and uncle mourn his passing but celebrate the life of a man who was a pillar of strength, unity and a beacon of love.
Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Leola Van Horn, his father, his mother Zae & stepfather Ed, his brother Bob (Aunt Lein), Cal and Lollie. Though they have gone before him, Jerry's faith assures us that they are reunited in the presence of the Lord, where there is no more pain or sorrow, only eternal peace and joy.
