Dr. Freund, Gerhard, inspired me. The 12 years we spent working in brain research were some of the best days of my life. I truly am sad that I have been so late to honor so gifted a man.

Dear Mrs Freund - I worked for Dr Freund at the VA for many years - he was such a gentle soul with a great sense of humor. I particularly loved his giggle of a laugh! My sincere condolences to you and your family.

Dr. Freund was one of my favorite people. I edited his manuscripts for several decades, and we always had a wonderful time sharing ideas and experiences. I was awed to learn the story of his early life when he published his memoir, and I cherish the copy he gave me.
I remember one time when Dr. Freund had a black eye, which, when asked, he said he received while jumping on the bed with a grandchild. A fortunate grandchild, indeed.

Dr. Freund was one of my favorite people. He had the most wonderful attitude towards life and a great sense of humor. I edited his professional work for several decades, and we always had a great time exchanging ideas and stories. I was awed by the story of his early life that he was kind enough to share with me when he published his memoir.
I remember once when he came in with a black eye, which, he explained when queried, he received while jumping on the bed with a grandchild. A fortunate grandchild, indeed.
