Gertrude Maloney Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 19, 2017.
Trudy, 92, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017.

Trudy was born in Kafertal, Germany in 1925. At the close of WWII, she met a young lieutenant from Columbus, Ohio. They were married in Columbus and spent 60 years together before her beloved John died.

Trudy and John and their three children moved to Aiken, South Carolina where the family spent many wonderful years making life-long friends.

Trudy was a loving wife, devoted and caring mother, inspirational grandmother, and loyal friend. Her life was her family. She is survived by her children, Ralph and Beth Maloney of Charlotte, Frank and Patricia Maloney of Philadelphia, and Lisa and Thomas Dion of Melbourne, FL; and her grandchildren, Marianne, Marliese, Adrienne, Caroline, and Ryan; as well as her great-grandchildren, Everett, Jackson, Ian, Elliot, Bailey, and Ty.

The family is grateful to the many caregivers who helped Trudy in her last days, in particular Hospice at Southminster in Charlotte.

A Memorial Mass is planned for April.
