Gilbert (Gib) VanSteenwyk 11/18/1936 ~ 9/6/2003 Gilbert (Gib) Van Steenwyk passed away peacefully at his home Sept 6, 2003 at Bountiful, Utah.He was born Nov 18, 1936 to Frank and Karra Van Steenwyk in Sheldon, IA. He proudly served his country for three years in the U.S. Army. He married Marge Arends in Sheldon, IA, Oct 11, 1963. They made their home in Bountiful, UT. To their union twin sons were born, Karl and Kurt. Gib was employed by Western Airlines and later Delta Airlines, Salt Lake City until Jan 1999. His life is celebrated by the family he left behind, wife, Marge; twin sons, Kurt, Midvale, UT, Karl (Brandi), Fort Stewart, GA; sisters, Darlene Schwarz, Sheldon, IA, Coreen Paulson, Glenwood, MN; granddaughter, Ashlee, Bountiful, UT; grandson, Tony, Fort Stewart, GA; many nieces and nephews. The Celebration of his life will be 10:30 a.m. Tues. Sept 9, 2003 Grace Baptist Church, 390 N. 400 E, Bountiful, UT. Directors, Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary. MARGE

I KNOW WE MET SOMETIMES AT ONE OF

OUR COMPANY'S CHRISTMAS PARTYS. VAN WAS THE BEST MECHANIC I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH. WE WERE ON THE SAME SHIFT AND TEAM FOR YEARS. IF THERE WAS WORK TO BE DONE VAN WAS THE FIRST PERSON IN LINE TO HELP OR TAKE ON THE JOB NO MATTER WHAT KIND OF AIRPLANE OR WHAT KIND OF JOB. YOU COULD COUNT ON VAN TO BE THERE. I AM PROUD TO HAVE KNOWN AND WORKED WITH A HUMAN BEING LIKE VAN. THE AIRCRAFT INDUSTRY AND THE WORLD LOST ONE OF THE FINEST.
