Gintaras Fokas, age 60, a resident of Naperville, IL, passed away on August 22, 2021. He was born in Lithuania on March 25, 1961.
Gintaras is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Janina Fokiene; his loving children, Dainius (Rasa) Fokas and Monika (Dave) Fokaite; his cherished step-grandchild, Tauras Narbutas; and his dear sister, Aurelija Vaigauskiene. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas Fokas and Aldona Fokiene.
Gintaras was a family man and he centered his life around his wife and children. He was the most selfless person and would drop everything at a moment's notice to help his children or anyone in need. Gintaras came to the U.S. in 1998 to give his family an opportunity for a better life and became a U.S. citizen in 2018. He was a proud father and took pleasure in sharing the talents and achievements of his children with others. Gintaras worked diligently and passionately as a contractor and took pride in his work.
Gintaras' favorite past time was fishing, and he was thrilled to venture out with every opportunity he had. He loved animals, nature, swimming, and snorkeling. Gintaras had a care-free personality and always a positive outlook on life. He never took anything for granted and loved life to the fullest.
If you were fortunate enough to know Gintaras, then you knew of his big heart. He will be dearly missed by anyone who has ever met him.
Gintaras buvo šeimos žmogus ir visa gyvenima sutelke i žmona ir vaikus. Jis buvo pats nesavanaudiškiausias žmogus ir akimirksniu viska atsisake, kad padetu savo vaikams ar visiems, kuriems reikejo pagalbos. Gintaras atvyko i JAV 1998 m., Kad suteiktu savo šeimai geresnio gyvenimo galimybe, o 2018 m. Tapo JAV pilieciu. Jis buvo išdidus tevas ir džiaugesi galedamas pasidalinti savo vaiku talentais ir pasiekimais su kitais. Gintaras kruopšciai ir aistringai dirbo rangovu ir didžiavosi savo darbu.
Megstamiausias Gintaro laikas buvo žvejyba, ir jis buvo laimingas išnaudodamas visas galimybes. Jis mego gyvunus, gamta, plaukiojima ir nardyma. Gintaras buvo be rupesciu asmenybe ir visada teigiamai žiurejo i gyvenima. Jis visada buvo teigiamas ir mylejo gyvenima iki galo.
Jei jums pasiseke pažinti Gintara, tai žinojote apie jo didele širdi. Jo labai pasiilgs visi, kas ji pažinojo.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2:00 until 5:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. Interment will be private. Following the service, we welcome all to the Fokas home in Naperville, located at 284 Westbrook Circle, Naperville, IL for a celebration of life gathering. Gintaras was not a traditional guy, so we want to respect his wishes and celebrate his life in a non-traditional way.
Gintaras was the sole provider for his wife, so family friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help his wife and family with the medical bills and other unexpected expenses.
