Giselle Mary CARRIER

CARRIER, Giselle Mary (nee Comeau)
Giselle passed away on April 14, 2015 at the age of 90 years. Her loving family was nearby and supported her during her courageous battle with cancer.
Giselle loved the six children she and Hervey called "Family". Hervey passed away in 1998. Their six children are: Richard (Anne), Charles (Lorraine), Greg (Patricia), Marcel (Jackie), Patricia (Laine), and Madeleine. Also surviving her passing are 11 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; and two sisters, Corine L'Heureux and Marie Baldock.
Memere Carrier was born in Villeneuve, Alberta, one of 12 children, and moved to Joussard on Lesser Slave Lake as a young child. Hervey and Giselle were married in Joussard in 1946 where they worked hard at their mink farming business. As the family grew in numbers, the hard survival work continued. A move to McLennan provided Giselle with work as a kindergarten teacher.
Memere's goal in life was to provide their children with a good education. She sacrificed to successfully reach this goal.
A move to Vernon provided retirement and enjoyment in the beautiful Okanagan. After Pepere's passing Memere returned to Edmonton to live her final years close to family.
Giselle was a devoted Catholic lady and was an active member of the CWL at St. Agnes. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Prayers will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Connelly- McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. Agnes Parish, 10826 - 62 Avenue, Edmonton.
