Giulia Bonelli Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 22, 2018.
Giulia, the daughter of Louis and Anna Vlacich, was born June 10, 1933, in the Parish of San Lorenzo d'Albona (Istria) which was then part of Italy and she passed away peacefully on September 21, 2018.

Giulia immigrated to the United States in 1955, where she eventually met the love of her life and husband of nearly 63 years, Rosario Bonelli. Together, they raised two children, Evelyn Bonelli Tressitt and Joseph Bonelli in Astoria, New York.

Giulia was a devoted wife and mother and a proud and loving grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren: Rachel Elizabeth Tressitt, Joseph James Tressitt, Julia Rose Tressitt, Kristen Luciana Bonelli, and Danielle Rose Bonelli. Giulia leaves behind surviving members of her family including her son-in-law Jim Tressitt and daughter-in-law, Carol Bonelli, a sister, Graziella Dumicich, nieces Renata Patterson and Adriana Taylor, and nephews, Michael Vlacich and David Vlacich and four grandnieces and nephews; as well as sisters-in-law Anna Vlacich and Sally Bonelli and many wonderful cousins and friends. Her brother, Italo Vlacich, and brothers-in-law, Carlo Bonelli and Antonio Dumicich predeceased her.

Giulia's life was fully centered on her family, caring for her husband and spending time with loved ones. She enjoyed spiritual life and prayer, cooking, reading, crocheting, annual trips to Atlantic City and staying in touch with extended family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday Sept. 25th. At 10:30am at Most Precious Blood Church. Entombment will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery.
