Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 20, 2024.
Gladys Marie Schultz, nee Allshouse, affectionately known as Corky, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2024, in Princeton, New Jersey, at the age of 97. Born on November 23, 1926, in Princeton, she spent most of her vibrant life in the city she loved.

Corky's passion for music defined her career and her life. For over 30 years, she graced the stage as a singer and drummer in the genres of Country, Rock 'n Roll, and Blues. Her musical journey included performances in clubs and on the radio, with memorable gigs in Reno, Nevada. Even after retiring from show business in 1982, Corky never stopped singing, finding joy and solace in music until her final days.

She leaves behind a loving family: her sister Doris Allshouse Trani; her daughter Stacey Schultz Herrick; her son Bruce D. Schultz; and five cherished grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Corky was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert H. Schultz; her son Steven B. Schultz; two sisters; and five brothers.

A service to honor Corky's life and legacy will be held at Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Ave, Princeton, NJ 08542. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to a charity very near and dear to her heart: Happy Tails Rescue Retirement Home at www.HTRRH.org. Corky's life was a melody of joy, love, and enduring passion for music. Her legacy will resonate with those who knew her and were touched by her talent and spirit.
