Glenn Collins Obituary
Collins, D.M.D.
FORT MYERS, Fla. Glenn Emerson Collins, D.M.D., 67, passed away Aug. 18, 2003 at his residence in Fort Myers, Fla., after an extended illness.
Glenn completed his undergrad uate work at the University of Mi ami in Ohio, and went on to receive his doctorate degree in denistry at age 22 from Pittsburgh Dental School in 1959. Upon graduation, he served with the rank of captain, with the U.S. Army in Fort Hood, Texas (U.S.A. Dental Detachment). He then opened his private practice in Stow, Ohio and practiced there until his retirement. He was very respected by both his peers and patients who enjoyed his caring nature and quality service. After his retirement in 1994, he enjoyed the Florida lifestyle in Spanish Wells CC in Bonita Springs, and then on to Legends Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers. Golf was his passion until recently when poor health interfered. He will be so missed by those who knew the wonderful, gentle man who was so very special.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Marcia; son, David Glenn Collins of Tampa, Fla.; future daughter-in-law, Valeri Nase; sister, Nancy Staves of Tucson, Ariz.; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Glenn and Louise Collins.
Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home, 12777 State Highway 82, Lehigh Acres, Fla. 33970 (941-334-4880) is handling the arrange ments. Viewing will be Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003 from 2 to 4 p.m. The memorial service is on Monday, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m.
