Goldie Lester

LESTER – Goldie M., 99, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 26, 2008, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 1, 1909 in Davidsville, daughter of Reuben and Anna (Kaufman) Loughner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James P. Lester; sons, James, Donald and George; and a brother, George Loughner. Survived by loving children, LeRoy (Eleanor), Ohio; Ruth (Donald) Hall, Daisytown; June (Ed) Ziemba, Park Hill; Pat (Ray) Gindlesperger, Ohio; Bill (Joanne), Richmond, Va.; and Bob (Cindy), Harrisburg; 33 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Goldie enjoyed playing the piano, cooking and baking for her family. She will be remembered as a beautiful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at The Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Michael Husted officiating.
