On September 17, 2014, Gordon Harold Demyen, dearly loved husband of Georgina passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Gordon was born October 25, 1930 to Joseph and Erma Demyen in Handsworth, Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Joseph and Alex, and sister-in-law Eunice. His memory will live on in those who loved him. Left to mourn his loss is the love of his life, Georgina, four sons Dennis (Barbara), Ronald (Sharleen), Dale (Angela) and Gale (Carolynn). He was grandpa to Jason, Marina (fiancé René), Grayden, Thomas (Melodie), Amanda (Trevor), Scott (Niki), Brandeé, Crystal (Tyson), Caleb and Tony, and great- grandpa to Savannah, Dustin, Shelby, Kendyl, Alyssa, Blayke, Charlee and Alexis as well as brother, Bill (Nell); sister Rena (Vince); sister- in-law Leona and many nieces and nephews. Gordon was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1956. He had a strong faith in Jehovah God and his promise of a resurrection to a paradise earth. Gordon spent most of his working life in the construction industry with Cairns Homes and Nu-Fab. He built two homes for himself and his family, one in Regina and the other in Francis, Saskatchewan. In 1995, they sold their home in Francis and moved back to Regina. His positive attitude till the end was a real encouragement and example of endurance. The family would like to express special thanks to the dedicated staff of Palliative Care and to Michelle, Patty and Hayle and to Dr. M. Alibhai, Dr. Nilson and Dr. R. H. Abdulla for their compassionate care during his illness. Cremation has already taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at 2020 Van Egmond Place, Regina, Saskatchewan, Mr. N. Kotrla officiating.
