Born July 20, 1935, to Kathryn M. Wolf Luce and Dudley Gordon Luce, Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Nancy Ann Edmonds Luce, son Andrew Gordon Luce (Kendall) and daughter Jennifer Susan Luce Taylor (Bill); six grandchildren, Benjamin Luce Brodie, Alexander Green Luce (Kellyn), Hilary Hyde Luce, Jackson Huffard Luce, Wilson Luce Taylor (Alicia), Allyson Talley Taylor Matthews (Jake), and six great-grandchildren, Shae and Dru Luce, Katherine and Walter Taylor, Charlotte and Soren Matthews. He graduated from the Hackley School in 1953 and Amherst College in 1957, where he majored in English and was the social chair of the Psi Upsilon Fraternity. He served as an officer in the Navy until January 1961 and graduated from Harvard Business School in 1963.

He met Nancy on a blind date in March of their freshman year in college, Amherst and Mt. Holyoke. They were married on December 28, 1957.

He worked as a chartered financial analyst for Clark, Dodge and Co., Legg Mason, and Brown Brothers Harriman in New York City and retired in 1996.

The family lived in Rye, NY, from 1966 to 1996. Gordon was an avid tennis and paddle tennis player and a member of the Shenorock Shore Club in Rye.

In 1996, Nancy and Gordon moved to Eastman in Grantham, NH, where he was active with golf, tennis, croquet, and the investment club. They traveled extensively and had many wonderful visits with family and friends.

Gordon's lifelong interests included photography, travel, history, reading and collecting books, outdoor grilling, and listening to and collecting various music.

In June 2020, the Luces moved to Keene, NH.
